Sometimes I could kick a few politicians (and with eight legs that's quite a feat). Here in California, we just finished watching the two major Democratic candidates Steve Westley and Phil Angelides, lay into each other with enough mud to bury the entire state under a layer two feet thick, with the result that by the time the primary election actually arrived, most of the state was thoroughly sick of both of them. While of course the rest of the Democrats in the race were almost completely ignored and I suspect a lot of folks didn't even know there were others. This, of course, means Phil Angelides, the "winner" of the affray starts out his campaign for Governor with a lot of annoyance to play down. Now played right, this could help the Republican incumbent, Arnold Schwarzenegger. But nope, his campaign dives right into the muck after him with the very first ad. So here we go again. I don't favor either of them, to be honest, but I do rather like to watch tv without wanting to throw something at the screen. Which is one reason I've joined in here; there has to be some way to teach these guys that no, if both parties act like screaming children in the playground, if there ARE only two, that one wins should not be taken as a sign that this is a good idea.Anansii 06:08, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
