This policy proposal failed to be ratified. If you think that it should be reconsidered, you can propose modifying it and voting again on the talk page.

Policy validation policy (PVP) or Policy expiration policy (PEP) (a complement to PAP) proposes for all policies to have their expiration date (or the time they should be valid) strictly defined. This time period can either be voted as a number by the voters, or pre-defined by the one who proposes the policy then silently accepted be the voters.

The important thing is that Amendments are not allowed until the policy's expiration (or during the time a policy is considerd to be valid).

The maximum allowed expiration (or validation) date for a policy is defined to be the human lifetime, which is approximately 75 years. The minimum allowed expiration (or validation) date for a policy is defined to be zero. (in that case PEP is considered to be identical to PAP)

After the expiration of a policy, whatever the policy decides can:

  1. either be accepted, applied and continues to be valid until an alternative policy is proposed, voted and approved (lets call it the PEP A-case, it is identical to the case of PAP)
  2. or be undetermined and unspecified (lets call it the PEP U-case)

Whether a policy's decision is undetermined or alternatively silently accepted after the expiration, this may also be the subject of a vote between the voters, or the voters may silently accept the recommendation of the policy writer.

Expiration of PEP[]

Every policy must respect what she proposes, so PEP should expire.

If this policy is accepted, I propose to expire after 3 months, then reconsider. In case this policy is accepted again , I then propose to expire after 6 months, and so on, until the maximum of 75 years is reached.

Alternatively the expiration of PEP may be the subject of a vote. Let every voter to vote what s/he thinks the expiration of PEP should be, a vote between 0 (means PEP should expire immediatly) and 75 years. Then let either the average of the votes, or the majority of the votes to decide what the expiration of the PEP policy should be.

After PEP's expiration, whatever PEP decides should be silently accepted until an alternative policy is proposed, voted and approved. (A-case)
