I just ran through the other language sites. What can we do in terms of outreach to get more things happening on those sites like what is happening here? Chadlupkes 18:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

I think people feel more inclined to edit than to create articles. Maybe if a few core article were translated, newcomers would feel more encouraged. I started doing this for the spanish Campaigns Wikia (I translated not only the main page and the mission statement, but also some help pages). I think we should advertise the existence of other language and make a translation project. The other languages will draw heavily from translation, until they reach a "critical mass". -- Waldsen 20:26, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Ok, two things come to mind. How much do you think it would help to have the electoral calendar and voters guides translated to create a foundation for the types of articles and information that we're looking for? Also, strategic translation of particular articles would be a great motivator, but which articles should we use? Since you're working on Spanish, let's discuss pages and progress. I think the electoral calendar and voter guides are a top priority. I started translating the country templates for the voter guide a few weeks ago, but I guess the english page was more stimulating, so it was left incomplete. I can begin to translate the electoral calendar... --Waldsen 21:08, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Interlanguage links Edit

Ok, I just finished putting the links on all the various Home Pages. This is going to help a lot. I've gotten people ask me about Korean and Vietnamese, and I'm recommending that they come to the site and request the languages. I certainly can't do anything with them myself, so someone needs to step up before we create them. Chadlupkes 14:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

PolishEdit

Looks like we forgot Polish when we created the Interlanguage links, so we'll have to get that working. Chadlupkes 22:21, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

French Edit

Ok, there are two sets for French.

I'm going to ask that the unofficial site be closed and redirected to the official site. Chadlupkes 20:45, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
