In Infinite Play The Movie the Internet gives birth to

The One Click Revolution

It allows an authenticated and measured expression of the collective will of the people to be demonstrated such that representatives know how their constituents want them to vote. There only other choice is to go against the will of the people.

It is based on the premise that it is easy to corrupt or manipulate one person, or even 10. But it is very hard (or expensive) to corrupt 1,000 people. The idea is if you can have a thousand or 10 thousand people making a decision rather than a few it can eliminate the influence of special interests. The lobbyists would then need to convince the people not a few representatives.

Other than that the Internet can provide for "ease of participation" the idea that we could participate with a few mouse clicks would create a revolution in politics.

Could it be created here? Is it already happening by it's own accord?

If all our problems orginate from ignorance, could the dessemination of intelligence rather than rhetoric and disinformation be a solution?

In the movie the capability of a direct vote has one flaw, it gives the media to much power to influence the results through manipulation of perception. It is not until an independant subscriber based media develops and the nations attention turns to this, that the direct vote will actually works.
